Walter Dix & Co has been a family run business for four generations. Founded in 1888 as heating engineers in Newcastle upon Tyne, we were appointed as one of the very first AGA Distributors in 1931.
Based in Team Valley, we cover the whole of the North-East for AGA, Everhot & Esse distribution including Northumberland, Durham, Tyne & Wear, Teesside and parts of North Yorkshire and we can offer our complete and unrivalled service throughout this area.
Our Gateshead Showroom displays not only cast iron cookers but over 50 top quality Range Cookers and other appliances which we distribute throughout the UK. Our Showroom also has a large display of cookware and accessories and is the venue for our cooking demonstrations.
Due to the new regulations imposed as of 05/11/20, our showroom will be closed and viewing will only be allowed by pre booked appointments only, alternatively if you do not wish to attend we can assist via video call to "walk round" our showroom and a virtual meeting with staff or simply talk to you about our products. Saturdays: We are still operating emergency breakdown cover for Saturdays but we will be reducing our appointment only opening hours down to 09:30 until 13:00 to offer order collections and service assistance.
We would kindly ask you to adhere to the sanitising of your hands and wearing a face covering (masks are provided) and gloves(provided). We will also be asking for your name and contact number for track and trace requirements only. We must insist that if you are feeling unwell or any member of your household is suffering symptoms of Coronavirus - please do not attend. We will be providing all necessary protective measures for customers and staff including hand sanitisers, gloves and masks.
Service and Breakdown of AGA/Rayburn Cookers: If you are one of our regular service customers and have a problem with your AGA or Rayburn and require assistance, please contact our office by phone or email. We are able to offer advice and arrange an engineer to visit your home to attend to the breakdown (safety guidelines are being adhered to). If you would also like to arrange a service on your appliance then please contact us. Current regulations do not prevent routine safety service operations to ensure the safe operation of your appliance.
